The Druvas kultūras nams coordinates the activities of seven folk art groups in Saldus pagasts. These include dance groups for different age groups, a vocal ensemble, a folklore group and a theatre group. For active days, there are three routes to choose from: the “Saldus–Druva” cycling route is 21 kilometres long, the “Saldus–Druva–Saldus” circular hiking route measures 12 kilometres, and the “Druva–Lutriņi–Druva” circular hiking route is approximately 21 kilometres long.

The Druvas kultūras nams is more than a venue: it also houses the local history collection of Saldus pagasts. It contains evidence of the history of Saldus pagasts, antiques and cultural heritage. The cultural centre’s various groups contribute to preserving the intangible cultural heritage of Kurzeme. As a result, both material evidence and traditional forms of dance, music and theatre are central to Druva.

Another distinctive feature is Druvas vidusskola. It was built from 1986 to 1989 according to an individual design by the architect Tālivaldis Timpars. At the Druvas amatnieku centrs, you can also try various handicrafts. Those interested in regional everyday history, architectural culture or practical creativity will therefore find several different themes, without having to combine them into a single museum experience.

The three routes differ primarily in their length and course. At 12 kilometres, the “Saldus–Druva–Saldus” circular hiking route is the shorter loop. The “Druva–Lutriņi–Druva” circular hiking route, by contrast, is approximately 21 kilometres long; you should retain the approximate figure when planning. The “Saldus–Druva” cycling route covers 21 kilometres and leads to the birthplace of the renowned painter Jānis Rozentāls in “Bebri”. The “Druva–Lutriņi–Druva” circular hiking route passes by this birthplace. The route details therefore help you distinguish between a shorter loop, a longer loop and a cycling route with a cultural destination.

Druva’s regional character also includes “Druvas Saldējums”. Its production uses recipes that have been developed further since 1986, as well as fresh milk from its own farm. This connection to local production complements the cultural and craft themes with a specific food product from Druva.
