Blomes Dzirnavezers is located in the centre of the village of Blome, near the cultural centre and apartment buildings. The lake was artificially dammed on the Nigra at the end of the 18th century. There are two designated hiking trails in Blome Municipality.

Nigras taka is a circular hiking route with a high level of difficulty. It follows the Nigra River along steep banks, through ravines and past streams, and has numerous bends. The challenges include ascents, descents, narrow bridges, mud and other difficult sections. The route begins at a bridge over the Nigra near the houses called “Janēti”.

What waterside and recreational places are there?
The southeastern part of Blomes Dzirnavezers is equipped with a sports field and recreational infrastructure. There are several fishing spots, jetties and a bathing area along the shores. The lake is therefore described not only as a landscape feature but also as being characterised by various specific lakeside amenities.
Near Jeberleja, next to the open-air stage, there is a small pond with a bathing area and a jetty. There are also volleyball courts and a grassy area suitable for various activities. Spacious camping areas are available in the vicinity of the open-air stage.
Which cultural sites and historical references shape Blome?
The Riņģi Meeting House is evidence of Latvian spiritual life in the 19th century. Every year in July, it hosts its own festival, Kambara svētki. Near the Riņģi Meeting House of the Herrnhuter Brethren Church, there is also a memorial stone for Ķikuļu Jēkabs.
Ķikuļu Jēkabs is considered the first Latvian poet. He was a poet, weaver and practising member of the Herrnhuter Brethren Church.
The event “Satiec savu meistaru” has been held at Blomes Tautas nams for two decades already. Another cultural feature is the Jeberleja open-air stage, which was built as an old barn in the second half of the 20th century. Blome’s Pasaku Oak has become a symbol of Blome and has survived to this day.
