Nature
Taikūnai is one of the villages that lie wholly or partly within Veisiejai Regional Park. The Taikūnai pine is a state-protected natural heritage tree on Lake Vilkaitis in Taikūnai. It is 20 m tall, and its trunk has a circumference of 3 m.
Culture and History
The Taikūnai burial site lies on the western shore of Lake Vilkaitis in the village of Taikūnai. Iron axes, rings and knives were found at this burial site in 1937 during road construction.
A wooden cross is attached to the Taikūnai pine. Next to the pine, a dark wooden post was driven into the ground in memory of the Dainava district partisans.
The site of the battles and deaths of Lithuanian partisans is located in Taikūnai, in the Veisiejai Eldership in Lazdijai District.
