Kačerginė: Hotels and Accommodation

The 6 km-long Šaltinių Trail leads through the forest of Kačerginė. Forest habitats and animal burrows lie along the route; four viewpoints offer views of the Nemunas and the Pypliai hill fort. The trail is marked with directional signs, and there are also parking spaces nearby and an information board.

Culture

Kačerginė preserves wooden resort architecture from the interwar period, including restored villas associated with Viktoras Rėklaitis and Pranas Vaičiuška. The wooden St. Anne's Chapel was built according to a 1936 design by the architect Vytautas Landsbergis-Žemkalnis and contains a rare stained-glass altar.

The writer Jonas Biliūnas lived in Kačerginė in 1906 and wrote several works there, including “Abejojimas”, “Brisiaus galas” and “Vieną rudenio dieną”. A park in Kačerginė has benches engraved with lines from the poet's work “Aukojau žemei” and is the venue for the annual poetry festival “Poezijos žydėjimas”.
