The Vijolė River rises in the area of Lake Rėkyvos, where the Verduliukų aukštapelkė raised bog is located. The Verduliukų aukštapelkė raised bog is designated as the source area of the Vijolė River. From Verduliukai, the Vijolė flows north towards Tilžės gatvė and joins the Kulpė near Sutkūnai.

The RÄ—kyvos Cultural Centre is located on the grounds of the former RÄ—kyvos manor estate; its main hall is housed in a former utility building of the manor.
