Culture and History

The Jurodis estate was established in the village of Naujasodžiai. A villa dating from the early 20th century on the Jurodis estate was converted for travellers in 2003. At Jurodis, the culinary heritage of the Žemaitians, influenced by German culture, is preserved.

Nature and Activities

Jurodis is located on the banks of the Nemunas and offers accommodation for up to 39 people. The estate also includes a banquet hall for up to 60 people. Bicycles and fishing equipment can be rented at Jurodis, and a cycle path runs near the estate.

Jurodis serves as a starting point for excursions along the river to ancient castles and churches. The river beach near Jurodis is suitable for swimming in hot weather. Boat trips are also offered at Kauno g. 103 in Naujasodžiai.

Regional Cuisine

At Jurodis, a dinner featuring culinary heritage can be ordered by prior arrangement. Jurodis's culinary offering includes food and drinks prepared according to local recipes, such as fish, crushed hemp seeds, kastinys, mint tea and fresh honey.

At Jurodis in Naujasodžiai, visitors can take part in an activity involving the preparation of quail eggs: the eggs are fried in a special pan and eaten with spices. Getting There

When travelling from Kaunas, at the 90-kilometre mark, follow the main road past a petrol station to the first small village road on the left towards the Nemunas, directly behind the Jurodis advertising sign. When travelling from KlaipÄ—da, a small village road branches off to the right before the Jurodis advertising sign as you leave the city.
