Łapczyca has the remains of a medieval hillfort and is described by the authority of Bocheńskie County as one of the oldest settlements in southern Poland and as a significant settlement center of the Bocheńskie region.
The old Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Łapczyca is a Gothic stone church; the associated parish is first documented in 1325–1327. Today, the church serves as a cemetery chapel.
