ZÄ…b has longstanding local agricultural and pastoral traditions and was founded in 1620 under the historical name Zubsuche.

ZÄ…b is home to a wooden parish church dedicated to Saint Anne, built in 1921 with a regionally inspired interior; nearby chapels contain works by folk artists.
