The yellow-marked Szlak Południowy offers a different route. It is about 17 kilometres long and runs from Susiec railway station via Jeleń Waterfall, the Nad Tanwią Nature Reserve, Rebizanty, Korkosze and Huta Szumy to Narol. This gives you the choice of a circular route that returns to the railway station or a route with a stated sequence of stops ending in Narol. When choosing, you can first consider the type of route and the distance you want to walk.

On the nearby blue Szlak Szumów, about 30 minutes’ walk from the starting point, you’ll reach a 1.5-metre-high waterfall on the Jeleń. It is protected as a natural monument. The nearby Nad Tanwią Nature Reserve also puts water and landscape centre stage: it protects particularly valuable sections of the Jeleń and Tanew valley, with rows of small waterfalls. The reserve was established in 1958, covers about 41 hectares and lies at an elevation of around 235 metres above sea level.

Another landscape feature is a reed-covered wetland on the nearby Szlak Szumów. It is about an hour and a half’s walk from the starting point and is described as a habitat for birds. If you’d rather take in the view, visit the Susiec viewing tower: from there, it stretches across striped fields and the extensive Puszcza Solska forest complex. There are benches and a bicycle shelter next to the viewing point.

Susiec is home to the historic Church of Saint John of Nepomuk. A monument at the town entrance commemorates Kargul and Pawlak. Nearby is Wzgórze Kościółek, also known as Zamczysko. An earthen rampart surrounds the site of a 12th- to 13th-century castle. A cross and a monument commemorate insurgents and partisans who hid there during the January Uprising and the last war.

In nearby Oseredek, the Firefighting Museum displays historic fire pumps, vehicles and uniforms. Its collection adds a distinct cultural and historical focus to the places in and around Susiec. These sites vary in character: the church and monuments offer a connection to history and remembrance, while the museum focuses on historic equipment.

The tourist information office in Susiec is located in the Gminny Ośrodek Kultury. If you plan to rely on its services, check in advance whether they are available. For another activity, the kayaking route on the Tanew is about three kilometres from Susiec. A transfer from accommodation belonging to the association is offered where possible, so a ride is not guaranteed in every case.
