Culture and History

Piastów was founded at the beginning of the 19th century under the name Franzdorf II, with predominantly German colonists. A glassworks was established there in 1811, and a school building was constructed in 1872.

On July 7, 1919, the settlement was renamed Piastów. Activities during the interwar period included two windmills, a textile factory, and a brickworks.

Piastów has a volunteer fire brigade. Its youth teams took part in fire brigade competitions at district level, representing the municipality of Żelechów.
