Tylawa is located in the Low Beskids in Poland’s Subcarpathian region. Two documented hiking routes begin here or pass through the area; the church is also a local landmark. The previous page linked a general reference to the national park with Tylawa without explaining the precise connection. For a trip, the actual trails and a clear distinction between Tylawa and the nearby museum in Zyndranowa are more important.

Hiking from Tylawa
The Tylawa–Baranie trail starts at the church in the village, goes via Smereczne, Wilsznia and Olchowiec to Baranie, and is listed as 15.2 kilometers long. A connecting trail leads to the Blue Border Trail. Another PTTK route, marked in yellow, connects Tylawa with Olchowiec; the stated walking time is approximately two and a half hours. Do not confuse this time estimate with the longer Baranie route. A 17.6-kilometer trail from the hermitage of Saint John of Dukla to the Dukla Pass also passes through Tylawa. For all routes, check the markings, weather, return transport and your starting point against current maps.
Church and regional heritage
The church in the village is a masonry building and today serves as a Roman Catholic parish church. The records mention an older Greek Catholic history, an iconostasis and historic pews; current access to the interior should be checked. The year 1784 mentioned in the source text and another source’s reference to 1787 do not necessarily refer to the same construction event. The wording here therefore avoids stating an exact construction year that has not been verified.
The Lemko Culture Museum is located in nearby Zyndranowa. Its ethnographic and historical exhibition includes, among other things, memorabilia relating to the Battle of the Dukla Pass. The historic buildings date from the late 19th and early 20th centuries; a chyża (traditional Lemko farmhouse) dating from 1860 was used as a smoke house until 1901. The museum holds an annual Lemko heritage festival and occasional craft workshops. It is a separate excursion to Zyndranowa, not an institution in the village of Tylawa. Check opening hours and dates there.
Accommodation and getting your bearings
When choosing accommodation in Tylawa, consider its location in relation to your intended hiking starting point. Simply mentioning a mountain trail does not establish that a hotel offers direct trail access, equipment, guided tours or transport. Check the exact address and the services actually offered. Plan a separate trip to Zyndranowa for the museum visit.
