Klein-Betschkerek: Natural Area, Church and Dimitrie-Țichindeal Museum
Klein-Betschkerek begins with a clearly defined natural feature: the ROSCI0277 Becicherecu Mic Natura 2000 site comprises Pannonian and Pontic-Sarmatian saline meadows and marshes. The natural area and cultural sites can be treated as distinct focal points when planning your day. The precise description of the landscape stands alongside biographical, ecclesiastical and museum-related references, which make the village readable from another perspective.
Culture
Dimitrie Țichindeal was parish priest in the parish of Becicherecu Mic from 1805 to 1812 and from 1815 to 1818. A bronze bust of Dimitrie Țichindeal stands in the churchyard of Becicherecu Mic.
The Romanian Orthodox Church in Becicherecu Mic was completed and consecrated in 1909. After 2010, it was completely renovated and fitted with a carved iconostasis, carved furnishings and frescoes.
The Dimitrie-Țichindeal Museum displays reproductions of documents and illustrations relating to the era in which Dimitrie Țichindeal lived. It also contains photocopies of works by Gheorghe Șincai, I. Budai-Deleanu and Samuil Micu Klein, as well as pages from “Fabule”. These are supplemented by photocopies of official documents from 1815 through which Dimitrie Țichindeal’s work “Fabule și moralnice învățături” was banned.
The museum opened in August 1987 in the building of the Serbian school in Becicherecu Mic. The ethnographic hall displays traditional clothing from all regions of the country, textiles, and household and everyday objects used by local residents over time. The ethnographic hall of the Dimitrie-Țichindeal Museum has been open to visitors since 2016.

The subjects also differ in form: landscape description, religious architecture, biographical remembrance, literary documents, ethnographic objects and fishing each appeal to different interests. You can consider these focal points independently and form only the combination that suits your own questions about the place for your planning.
For personal planning, you can distinguish between the natural area, sacred themes, literary and museum topics, ethnography, the mill and fishing. The information offers different perspectives on the same place without prescribing a fixed order. The combination you choose depends on your own interests and the time available.
