  • The museum excursions described are available by request.

What history and exhibitions does the local history museum present?

The former cathedral building was constructed with funds donated by parishioners. It is considered a historical and architectural monument and was the town’s first stone building. An archaeological layer of history lies on the same site: the former Osinsky settlement existed there from the 2nd century BCE to the 3rd century CE. The townscape thus brings together architectural history and the story of a much older settlement.

The exhibition “In the Fire of the Peasant War” covers the Peasant War of 1773–1775, led by E. Pugachev. It includes the diorama “E. Pugachev’s Capture of the Osa Fortress,” which depicts the uprising and the actions of the rebels and the fortress defenders. Another exhibition focuses on the Osinsky District during World War II. Check its current availability before visiting.

What do the nature exhibitions show?

The Museum of Nature of the Osa-Kama Area is housed in a separate building. Its exhibition features more than 300 species of plants and animals, as well as minerals. One highlight is the diorama “Nature of the Osinsky Kama Region,” described as Russia’s second-largest nature diorama. Including its realistically recreated foreground, it covers a total area of 180 m².
