The Museum of Modern Art of Uzbekistan in Urganch displays around 1,000 paintings, graphic works, and sculptures in its permanent exhibitions. The Jaloliddin Manguberdi Memorial Complex features a 25-meter-high statue of Jaloliddin Manguberdi holding the reins of a horse. The complex covers approximately 8 hectares; a car tunnel was built beneath the square with the monument. It was ceremonially opened on August 29.

The Khorezm Mamun Academy Museum is located in Urgench and presents a permanent exhibition on the history and culture of Khorezm. This permanent exhibition is divided into 12 sections. The use of the collections of the Khorezm Local Lore Museum and the Avesto Museum was approved for its presentation.

The city is also linked to the history of theater: the regional theater of Khorezm moved from Khiva to Urganch in 1931. The musical theater production “Ko‘ngil devori” was performed at the Ogahiy Regional Musical Drama Theatre in Urganch.

Transport and Routes

Urganch railway station is the most important transport hub in the Xorazm region and offers convenient connections to Toshkent, Buxoro, Samarqand, and Xiva.

Nature and Routes

Ecotourism routes have been opened in Khorezm National Nature Park, leading in four directions past historical and natural attractions of the Xorazm region. The park can be reached from Urgench by specially organized bus routes.

Near Urganch, the Urganch–Tuproqqala route leads to the Uch Uchoq geological and historical site; the route is listed as 200 km long.
