Yangikishlak: Hotels and Accommodations

An ecological educational trail was created in the district center of Yangikishlak as part of a project to promote ecotourism, allowing visitors to experience the local biodiversity under natural conditions.

Nature

The Nurota Nature Reserve is located in the central part of the Nurota Mountains in the Jizzakh Region and covers approximately 17,800 hectares. It was established to protect the population of Severtzov's argali. Nearby, the state Nurota Nature Reserve identifies the 2,000-year-old Oriental arborvitae near Upper Mojrum as an ecotourism site.

In the wider vicinity of the Nurota Nature Reserve, there is a 16-hectare enclosure near Upper Hayot for keeping and breeding Severtzov's argali; guesthouses are also operating in Upper Hayot, Upper Uhum, Asrof, and Porasht.

Tours

Nuratau Travel is based in Bog'don, formerly known as Yangiqishloq, and promotes community-based tourism in villages in the Nuratau Mountains. The company organizes community-based hiking tours, homestays, yurt camping, and other ecotourism activities.

A four-day cycling tour leads to Lake Aydarkul, where swimming is possible during the warmer months. This tour includes two overnight stays at Sayyod Yurt Camp and an authentic overnight stay with a host family in Asraf.

Culture

A large, historically significant regional transit trade route passed through Bog'don over mountain passes toward Sughd.

The folklore and ethnographic folk ensemble “Bogdon” performs songs, lapars, aitys, and examples of oral folk art reflecting the history, customs, and traditions of Forish District. The “Bogʻdon gullari” group has operated under this name since 1982.

The folklore and ethnographic folk ensemble “Bog‘don” took first place at the international folklore festival “Boysun bahori” in the category of national folk games and performing arts.

Routes

State road D048 runs through Forish District along the 90 km route Jizzakh – Bog'don – Qizilcha – D191. The Sovurbel Pass connects Bog'don with Qarobdol and Garasha. In spring, it is considered particularly appealing because of its scenic beauty.

Tea houses have been built at the foot of a spring on the northern slope of the Sovurbel Pass for travelers to rest. Minibuses and shared taxis regularly travel from Yangiqishloq to Jizzakh, to the Gorod bus station. There is no direct public bus connection from Tashkent to Yangiqishloq, the former name of Bog'don.
