The monument was installed on the embankment of the river Pregel near the ethnographic complex "Fishing Village" in Kaliningrad by the members of the local club "Munchausen’s grandchildren". It looks like a forged iron boot and the baron’s sword, whose incredible adventures are described in legends.
As it is known, baron Munchausen was not only the brightly colored literature character, but also a historical person. According to the legend, which is certainly true as stories of the legendary baron, when going to Russia, Karl Friedrich Hieronymus Munchhausen passed through Konigsberg, where he presented his boots to an orderly Silantiy Sivukha.
Later Silantiy Sivukha was asked to deliver in Bodenverder the Order of St. Anne to present it to baron Munchausen. However, being drunk the careless orderly fell into the Peregolya River and drowned, taking with the order and the boots of the baron with him.

Forged boot, symbolizing the boot of the baron Munchausen and the hilt of his sword, to which was attached the Imperial Order of St. Anne's of fourth degree, now are immortalized in a metal monument in Kaliningrad.
