In the administrative unit of Udënisht, Shpella e Mëmëlishtit is classified as a geomonument. The karst cave is 400 meters long, 10 meters wide, and approximately 25 meters high. You can reach the village of Mëmëlisht by any vehicle; from there, a footpath leads uphill to the cave.
History
The prehistoric pile-dwelling settlement of Udënisht 1 was discovered in spring 2017. It extends parallel to the shore for 160 meters, is approximately 50 meters wide, and lies 80 meters from the shore.
Radiocarbon dating assigns Udënisht 1, with a probability of 95.4%, to the period from 1500 to 1311 BC. The settlement is therefore assigned to a defined period rather than to a single year.
Seven stone tools from the Copper Age settlement of Zagradia are kept in the museum of Pogradec. The settlement of Zagradia itself cannot currently be visited because it is covered by the lake's water. The tools are therefore now located in a different place from the flooded settlement.
Culture
The early Christian Basilica of Lin consisted of seven rooms. The floors of all rooms were completely decorated with mosaics. The ruins of the basilica were restored in 2008; a single one-square-meter mosaic in the narthex is open to visitors.
The Basilica of Lin can be reached by car or bus in approximately 20 minutes. From the village of Lin, the subsequent walk to the basilica takes no more than 10 minutes. Visiting it therefore combines the journey to Lin with a short section on foot.
On the shore of Lake Ohrid lies the Rei Camping-Bar-Restaurant. It has a tradition dating back to 1998 and offers a comfortable setting as well as traditional dishes. Its long-standing tradition, lakeside location, and culinary offerings define the characteristics mentioned for the establishment.
Also pay attention to which services are included, which price components are itemized, and which booking and cancellation conditions apply. This keeps location information and individual conditions separate, and seemingly similar prices only become comparable when the scope of services matches. For hotel offers, it can also be checked where exactly the offer is located, which type of accommodation is specified, and how many people the occupancy is intended for. It should likewise be clear which services are included in the price or charged separately. These include, for example, itemized price components and the applicable booking and cancellation conditions. This makes it clear for the cost overview which differences arise from the respective offer and which arise from the destination. Occupancy and the scope of services should also be clearly stated before a decision is made. In addition, a comparison can record whether the same occupancy, the same accommodation type, and the same scope of services form the basis. The stated fees and the deadlines for changes or cancellations should also be included in the review. These details make differences between individual offers understandable without mixing location characteristics with contractual conditions.
