Siemków: Hotels and Accommodation

The most important and, in fact, only attraction in Semkov is the ruins of an extensive and magnificent manor complex from the late 18th century. The central building, a palace, was constructed between 1775 and 1780; at the same time, two side palace buildings and a park were created.

Nature

The “Semkovo” ecological trail is approximately one kilometre long. Along the route, there are 40 educational information boards and signs. The trail passes through an apple orchard and a park and begins near Zelenaya Street in the agro-town of Semkovo.

The mouth of the Chernyavka River is located in the agro-town of Semkovo. The Chernyavka River and its reservoirs are home to perch, pike, roach and crucian carp. The Chernyavka River and the reservoirs built along it are used for recreation and fishing.

Culture and History

Before the Revolution, Belarusian writers Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas visited the palace in Semkov. The manor and park ensemble of Semkovo was designed between 1775 and 1780 under the direction of the Italian architect Carlo Spampani.

The historical ensemble included a palace with two rounded terraces, two symmetrical wings, an orangery and a ceremonial entrance gate. Known as “Semkovo Versailles,” the estate is considered one of the early examples of Neoclassical architecture in the region.

Bus route 364 runs between the Karastayanovoy dispatch station in Minsk and Semkovo.
