The ethnographic exhibition on the material and spiritual culture of the Belarusian Sakunen at the Starodorozhsky Historical-Ethnographic Museum includes original exhibits that are more than 100 years old. The museum’s collections include paintings by I. N. Stasevich, works by Belarusian graphic artists and medal artists A. Kashkurevich, E. Tikhonovich, S. Gerus and S. Gorbunova, as well as wooden sculptures by the carver I. Lisuro.
The “History of Roads and the Postal Service” exhibition at the Starodorozhsky Historical-Ethnographic Museum reconstructs a postmaster’s office, a forge and an inn. The permanent “History of Roads and the Postal Service” exhibition is spread across three halls. The museum’s exhibition hall hosts exhibitions, presentations, master classes, lectures and guided tours.
The Anatoly Bely Art Museum in Staryye Dorogi is located in four two-storey buildings combined under one roof; it has around 500 square metres of exhibition space, eight thematic halls and approximately 4,000 exhibits.
Nine children, including boys, currently learn weaving at the “Udalitsa” studio in Staryye Dorogi. The Starodorozhsky District is considered the home of Ruchowsker carpets, which have been included on the list of intangible cultural heritage, and is known for its weaving traditions; these traditions are preserved and further developed at the Starodorozhsky Craft Center.
Church
The wooden Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Staryye Dorogi is active and was built between 1991 and 1993. A Way of the Cross arrived at the grounds of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Staryye Dorogi, where it was welcomed by numerous parishioners and pilgrims from neighbouring communities.
History
A red-brick water tower and a goods shed stand in the area of Staryye Dorogi railway station. The Staryye Dorogi water tower was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and is part of a tourist sightseeing route; the water tower and the goods shed are described as notable examples of the industrial architecture of their time.
Water
The Aquarius sculpture stands on the slope of the riverside promenade of the Solyanka River; safe access to it is practically impossible.
