Gorno Osenovo: Hotels and Accommodation

Parts of Rila National Park extend into the areas of Gorno Osenovo and Dolno Osenovo. The part of Rila National Park associated with both villages covers 1,071.9 hectares of forest as well as 573.0 hectares of high-mountain pastures and meadows. In the broader context of Rila National Park, the area also contains rare protected flora and fauna, including Balkan and national endemics.

Near Gorno Osenovo, the Osenovska receives the Rakovitsa tributary. The bed of the Osenovska near Gorno Osenovo is steep, rocky, and difficult to cross.

The Holy Trinity Church in Gorno Osenovo was built in 1925. An annual charity auction is held around it to raise money for its maintenance.

The Kaleto Fortress has steep slopes and is best accessed from the east.

The traditional fair in Gorno Osenovo attracts neighbors from surrounding settlements. It is held on May 27, the Christian feast of Pentecost and the day before the Feast of the Holy Spirit.

The final 7–8 kilometers to Gorno Osenovo are along an unpaved road that is unsuitable for vehicles with low ground clearance. In wet weather, the road to Gorno Osenovo is difficult to pass.
