Lyaskovo: Hotels and Accommodation

Lyaskovo is located within the protected Natura 2000 zone BG0000151 Aitoska Planina. This zone was designated to protect a range of habitats, including dry grasslands, low thorny shrub communities, vegetation on rocky slopes, and oak forests.

The remains of an old quarry are visible near Lyaskovo. The “Aytos genger,” also known as “Aytos prickly astragalus,” is described as a Bulgarian endemic and Tertiary relict and is listed as a rare plant.

The Three Brothers rock phenomenon was declared a natural monument by Order No. 1799 of June 30, 1972, and was included as Site No. 7A in Bulgaria’s list of 100 national tourist sites on September 17, 2019. The natural monument and its adjacent area were identified as a potential Natura 2000 site with an area of 1,047 hectares.

A red-marked ecological trail leads from Three Brothers to the bronze eagle statue and onward to the Kazanite natural monument. A second ecological trail runs from there eastward via Aytos Koriya and the Sudievo spring to the village of Sudievo.

Aytos Zoo is located in the northern part of Slaveeva Reka Park and covers 15 decares. It presents 21 animal species represented by approximately 220 animals. Upon prior request, the zoo offers free informational talks about animal care. Natural monuments and ecological trails near it attract visitors to Aitos. The park has two pedestrian entrances: one from the direction of Aitos and one from the reservoir side.

In the nearby town of Aitos, the Genger architectural and ethnographic complex presents local crafts and traditional architecture. Its workshops include pottery, copperwork, basket weaving, woodcarving, tailoring, and baking. The complex’s tavern serves traditional Bulgarian dishes and local wine. Lyaskovo was formerly known as Aptarazak.
