The municipal mineral bath is located in Strelcha’s central park. It has an indoor pool measuring 36 square meters and an area with 14 bathtubs. The pools and showers are supplied with mineral water at 31 to 33 degrees Celsius. The separate figure of 56 degrees Celsius refers to the spring water and should not be confused with the pools’ operating temperature. Before visiting, check opening hours, prices and whether it is suitable for your health needs. The Historical Museum in the town center organizes its exhibits into archaeology, the Bulgarian lands from the 15th to the 19th century, and art. Its archaeological exhibition spans prehistory to the Middle Ages.
Zhaba Mogila and Trails
The Thracian cult complex Heroon “Zhaba Mogila” consists of a tomb mausoleum and a sanctuary temple. The mausoleum, located in the municipality, was excavated in 1976 and dates from the 5th to 4th century BC. It is listed as about four kilometers from the town center; after an asphalt road, there are around 300 meters of unpaved path, which cannot be traveled by motor vehicles because of a nearby railway line. According to local information, there is no public transport there. Paid guided tours can be arranged on request through the museum. These details are more useful when choosing accommodation and planning an excursion than a general claim of proximity.
Strelcha is also a starting point for trekking routes in the Sŭshtinska Sredna Gora. The rock formations are protected. A festival devoted to tourism and essential oil crops builds on the former Rose Festival; activities such as rose harvesting and a visit to a distillery are part of the described festival edition, not an offering available at all times.
