Culture and History
Svezhen's old quarter was declared an architectural and historical reserve in 1987. The Svezhen Reserve comprises 110 architectural sites, mainly houses. Five sites in the reserve are of national cultural significance. Svezhen preserves traditional Bulgarian houses characteristic of the Sredna Gora region. The cultural heritage also includes rose-growing traditions.
The old Church of St. George was home to the Adzhar Literary School. Church manuscripts were created in Svezhen, and some of them have survived to this day.

The territory of Brezovo Municipality forms part of Sarnena Gora, the eastern subregion of Sredna Gora. Thracian burial mounds can be found in the area around Svezhen.
Things to Do
The Svezhen Hut is located in Sredna Gora at an altitude of 1,050 metres. A marked hiking trail leads from Svezhen to the hut in approximately 1.5 hours.
Near Svezhen, the Snake's Egg is described as the only documented megalithic egg in Bulgaria. The megalithic site associated with the Snake's Egg is located approximately one kilometre beyond the turn-off to the access point.
