Yavrovo: Hotels and accommodations

Those wishing to book a hotel in Yavrovo can then continue their accommodation search. During the ritual “Вдигане на куните”, also known as “Черковане”, the icons are carried in a procession from the local church to the chapel “Св. Никола”. Every year, this ritual attracts hundreds of people.

Religious traditions

The foundations of the Church of the Holy Mother of God revealed an underground chapel, also known as a catacomb. It contains an icon from 1735 and a stone slab from 1818. The Church of the Holy Mother of God in Yavrovo is described as being 160 years old. There is a well along its fence.

Culture and local history

The “Probuda–1923” community center was built in 1923. It organizes creative gatherings, concerts, and celebrations that attract residents and visitors. Yavrovo also preserves houses dating from the 19th century. The “Tsiporkova” House is named among the houses in Yavrovo designated as cultural monuments. Yavrovo is also described as the home village of Nikolay Haytov.

The annual village festival on September 8 includes a market, live music, dancing, a liturgy, and a charity auction. The auction proceeds are used to restore the church.

Nature and trails

The Glavata rock formation lies above Yavrovo in the southwestern foothills of Mount Ruen. From the former Ruen Hut, it can be reached via a trail in 30 minutes. An unpaved road from the Yavrovo hunting lodge leads to the rock formation in 45 minutes.
