Culture

The Probuda Cultural Center in Izgrev is part of the network of cultural centers of the Municipality of Venets. This network supports local cultural life and the preservation of Bulgarian customs and traditions.

The registered memorial plaque in Izgrev commemorates people who died for their country between 1912 and 1918; May 6 is given as the commemorative date.

The Petko Rachev Slaveykov Primary School in Izgrev runs the “Folklore of Ethnicities” club, which represents the school at school and municipal celebrations. There is also a “Skilful Hands” club, which produces materials and models for the school’s interior spaces.

The program for the patron saint’s day of the Petko Rachev Slaveykov Primary School in Izgrev includes a musical and artistic program as well as relay races. On May 24, the school’s students and teachers celebrate the Bulgarian Day of the Alphabet, Education and Culture, and Slavic Literature.

Students from Izgrev celebrated Bango Vasili at the local chitalishte with songs, dances, and survakane. At the regional “Pijo and Penda” competition, the Petko Rachev Slaveykov Primary School in Izgrev received a collective award.

Landscape

The Izgrev Reservoir is associated with recreational fishing.

The relief of the Municipality of Venets is predominantly flat and hilly and lies at an elevation of approximately 200 meters; it also includes broad, flat watersheds.

Transport

The Municipality of Venets has interurban road and bus connections, including the international Silistra–Shumen–Yambol road as well as bus connections to other municipalities and to Shumen.

Road III-7005 runs from Izgrev via Tŭkach and Kaolinovo to Todor Ikonomovo. Municipal road 23412 connects Duhovets, Kliment, Naum, and Izgrev.
