Aydemir: Hotels and accommodations

Pokrov Bogorodichen in Aydemir is a convent. Every March, Aydemir hosts the traditional Kukeri and Mask Festival “Да прогоним злото заедно”; Kukeri groups from all over Bulgaria take part in it.

Culture

Tataritsa, a neighborhood of Aydemir, is associated with a Russian Old Believer cultural tradition encompassing traditions, folklore, and applied arts. The Pokrov Presv. Bogoroditsa Church is located in Tataritsa. The Pokrov of the Mother of God Church in Tataritsa was built in 1750 and rebuilt after a fire in 1845. The Old Believer Church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in Tataritsa is described as a site with a Russian Old Believer eight-pointed cross and a bell tower with seven bells.

History

The Holy Trinity Church is listed among Aydemir’s immovable cultural heritage sites. It was built by Russian soldiers in 1829 and is located at 1 Zlatna Tonya Street in Aydemir.

A ceremony for the ordination of monks took place in September 2025 in the cathedral church of the monastery in Aydemir.

Nature

The fertile Danube lowland known as Baltata is described as being located near Aydemir. The Srebarna Lake lies in the southwestern part of the Baltata lowland in the wider area around Aydemir; its vegetation supports the nesting of rare birds.

Getting around

The one-day “Route to Silistra” passes through Aydemir and is part of the Silistra–Aidemir–Polkovnik Lambrinovo–Kalipetrovo–Silistra circuit.
