Mount St. Nedelya is located in Presoka. An old fortress stands at its summit and is described as being approximately 300 years old.
Nature and Trails
The St. Nedelya Eco Trail is 12 kilometers long, takes approximately three hours, and has an elevation gain of about 400 meters. It is marked with blue markings and wooden signs, passes a fountain with a rest area and a bivouac site, and goes past the protected structure Bunker. It also passes a viewpoint with panoramic views, crosses the road to Presoka, and ends at Mount St. Nedelya, which is 865 meters high.
The Zlatograd–St. Nedelya–Startsevo–White Stones cycling route is 8 kilometers long. In Presoka, there are mountain huts associated with the State Forestry, Belotex AD, and Villa Elit.
History and Culture
The White Stones site contains a sanctuary dedicated to the sun god.
The Zlatograd Ethnographic Area Complex is an open-air museum with an ethnographic museum, craft workshops, and exhibitions on water facilities. The complex is open year-round, admission is charged for visits, and it is connected with hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants. Bulgarian holidays and customs are presented there in traditional form. Three water facilities are still in operation at Vuntsov's Mill.
Flora and Fauna
The Municipality of Zlatograd lists wild orchids, spring snowflakes, holly, mountain snowdrops, and Rhodope Podrumiche as rare plants. In the area's highland fauna, it also cites rare birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
