Near Galabovo lies the Rozov Kladenets Reservoir, designated as the protected zone BG0002022 for wild birds. The reservoir is a place for birdwatching and walks. It is surrounded by low hills reaching 100–130 metres above sea level and consists predominantly of open water with little shoreline vegetation. In winter, the reservoir has relatively constant water temperatures that are warmer than usual because it is used to cool a nearby thermal power plant. During bird migration and in winter, it is an important resting place for waterbirds. A total of 142 bird species have been recorded there. The reservoir is internationally significant for wintering pygmy cormorants and cormorants; corncrakes also occur there during migration.

Culture

In the village of Erkesene near Gŭlŭbovo, there are part of Khan Tervel’s border ditch and part of the Roman road Apiev Roman Road. The House of Culture Energetik opened in 1968 and supports amateur groups and schools in the fields of dance, singing and theatre. Balzena Fortress is located on Gradishte Peak, 2 km south of Glavan. It was an important Byzantine and medieval defensive centre; only wall remnants at ground level are visible, and the site has not been developed for tourism.

The Gŭlŭbovo bus station is located at 13 Georgi Benkovski Street. The Youth Center is situated in a park of more than 45 decares in the centre of Gŭlŭbovo. Gŭlŭbovo Skate Park, designed for skateboards, scooters and bicycles, is also located in the Youth Center’s park. Sport Complex Energia includes street fitness areas, outdoor fitness equipment, table tennis and a badminton court.
