Targovishte: Hotels and Accommodation
In Targovishte, the Archaeological Exhibition is housed in the former Hadzhi-Rusi School building, which was built in 1907. It presents the history of the Targovishte region from prehistory to the Middle Ages, including an Eneolithic cult scene, collections of idols, a Thracian gold treasure, a silver surgical instrument, and epigraphic monuments. Culture
The Ethnographic Exhibition showcases the culture and everyday life of the population of the Targovishte region. Near Targovishte, the Misionis Fortress supports long-term scientific and educational programmes of the Regional Historical Museum of Targovishte.
The Targovishte Puppet Theatre was recognised as a state puppet theatre on 1 October 1975. It has presented productions in more than 100 locations in Bulgaria and abroad and has performed more than 200 plays for an audience of over 2.5 million spectators. The Targovishte Drama Theatre has a main hall and a chamber hall. It organises the International Festival of Children’s Performances “Magic Curtain” and “Days of the Big Theatre in the Small Town”.

Borovo-Oko Park is visited by residents and guests of Targovishte and features a lake and colourful avenues.
The Targovishte Tourist Information Centre provides information about tourist attractions. Targovishte is included in Bulgaria’s network of wine and culinary tourism destinations and is located near the cultural and historical destination “Old Capitals and Cities of the Bulgarian Kings and Patriarchs”. Misionis Fortress is located 7 km southwest of Targovishte and 1.6 km from the Sofia–Varna I-4 road.
