Nature

Kamaka is an iconic plateau associated with Gorna Oryahovitsa, featuring an educational eco-trail, viewpoints and a mountain hut. This trail is a hiking route for observing natural formations as well as rare plant and animal species. The highest point of Kamaka is at an elevation of 439 metres; the trail reaches the summit in about an hour. The Kamaka Meadow has picnic areas, swings and climbing frames.

Culture

The Historical Museum of Gorna Oryahovitsa preserves the city's heritage in six departments. They cover archaeology, ethnography, the Bulgarian National Revival, education, the national liberation struggles and traditional urban life.

The museum also has an exhibition dedicated to Gornooryahovski sudzhuk. It traces the product's history from early recipes to its status as a protected geographical indication in 2011.

The Avenue of Revival Fighters in Hristo Botev Park was established in 2006 and features stone busts of Hristo Botev and members of the Grancharov family. The monument to Georgi Izmirliev in the centre of Gorna Oryahovitsa is a bronze bust erected on 6 September 1910.

Gorna Oryahovitsa railway station is a major railway junction of national importance, handling substantial passenger and freight traffic.

The protected area of Bozhur Polyana is located within the municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa. It is home to the rare peony.

A visitor route connects the Historical Museum in Gorna Oryahovitsa with Ryahovets Fortress, the Monastery of the Holy Prophet Elijah and the Thracian rock sanctuary. A tourist train runs along a route connecting Gorna Oryahovitsa, Lyaskovets and Elena.
