Gorni Lom: Hotels and Accommodations

Gorni Lom is the starting point of the Midzhur Eco Trail. The trail leads via Mandara, Dzhurdzhin Krash, and Kozya Garbina to Mount Midzhur. Another nature trail, the Yellow Gentian Eco Trail, runs from Gorni Lom via Letovishte to Preslap.

Nature

The protected Chyprenski Buki locality extends into the area of Gorni Lom. Midzhur Hut stands in the Gorni Lom Balkan next to the starting point for the ascent of Mount Midzhur. Midzhur Hut is listed as having sanitary facilities, a kitchen area, and a dining hall.

Culture

The Church of Saint Paraskeva is designated as an architectural and artistic monument of national importance. It is also described as one of the oldest single-nave churches in the region. Inside, only the frescoes on the eastern wall are recorded as preserved.

Gorni Lom has a tourist information center that provides information about the municipality’s attractions and routes, accommodations, and visits to local woodworkers. The village also has a tourist center with an ethnographic collection. The annual Turlak folklore festival “Kada kum prase i ti vrechu” presents the songs, customs, clothing, and rituals of the local Turlak community.
