St Mark’s Chapel in Gornje Stative is listed in Croatia as protected cultural heritage. The small single-nave chapel stands on a hill and has a rectangular nave and a three-sided sanctuary. Držićev Mill on the Dobra is also listed in the local cultural heritage inventory of Gornje Stative.

KUD Stative collects, preserves, and presents objects of traditional value for an ethnographic collection. As part of the 2023 Karlovac Advent program, KUD Stative held a workshop on making Christmas decorations at the premises of the local community of Gornje Stative. KUD Stative also presented a folklore program for 2026 featuring the traditional dance Šetal sam se gori doli, the a cappella song Ej majka Maru, Polka, and Drmeš.

Nature and Trails

The Four Karlovac Rivers Trail passes through Stative toward the hamlet of Babići in Gornje Stative. It follows the banks of the Dobra, passes a mill and a waterfall, then climbs toward St Mark’s Chapel and continues through vineyards and forest.

The ŠRD Ozalj fishing area covers the left bank of the Dobra from the village of Stative to the Dobra’s confluence with the Kupa near Mahićno; the route is approximately 10 kilometers long.

Events and Traditions

The cultural event Ljeto na Dobri was scheduled to take place at the Krvavi mlin bathing area in Gornje Stative and included traditional rural competitions in wood sawing, sack racing, and tug-of-war. Around Fašnik, members of KUD Stative bake Krafne, also called Pokladnice, and describe this practice as a long-standing tradition.

City bus route 7 connects Karlovac Bus Station with Gornje Stative. In Gornje Stative, route 7 serves the stops at the G. Stative school and at the Gornje Stative bridge.
