What cultural and local history shapes a visit?
The Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene stands on Zašat Hill, east of the center of Krapinske Toplice. It was built in 1874 on the site of an older wooden chapel. Archaeological investigations in its surroundings uncovered finds indicating a prehistoric hilltop settlement. These have provisionally been dated to the Late Bronze Age, from 1200 to 800 BC. This place thus brings together a 19th-century chapel and evidence of a significantly older settlement.
Another chapel stands on a hill in Hršak Breg, 2 km from Krapinske Toplice: the Chapel of Saint Anthony was built in 1899. The octagonal Chapel of Saint Nicholas was built in the first half of the 19th century by Zagreb lawyer Nikola Valičić and was extensively restored by a new owner in 2007. The organ in the parish Church of the Holy Trinity was built in 1860 by Leonard Ebner of Maribor.
More recent cultural history is also part of the local scene: Kino Toplice reopened in mid-2022 after more than 20 years. The traditional BadlFest takes place every year in Krapinske Toplice. The spa park was laid out in 1861 alongside the spa and today has the character of a square in front of the old spa building.

The historic description “former” refers to the restaurant; the avenue describes the stretch of road between these two places. The Toplički pješački prsten includes medical, recreational, and fitness trail groups.
Horse riding is available at the Horses for Champions center in Krapinske Toplice. Heli Center offers a flight simulator experience. Nearby are Petrač winery and its vineyards on Hršak Breg.
