Dubravica: Hotels and Accommodation

Cret Dubravica has been a protected special botanical reserve since 1966 and covers an area of 8.49 ha in Dubrava Forest below Lugarski breg, on the left slope of the Dubrava stream. Cret is one of the last remaining marsh areas in Croatia and one of the last habitats of the round-leaved sundew in Croatia.

Nature

Visitors should view Cret Dubravica only from its edge and should not enter the marsh, except for maintenance purposes or scientific research. Cret Dubravica is an acidophilous transitional bog. Four critically endangered bog fungi species have been recorded there: Galerina paludosa, Galerina tibiicystis, Hygrocybe coccineocrenata and Myriosclerotinia dennisii.

In the west, the Municipality of Dubravica encompasses a large part of the fertile Sutla Valley; its eastern areas are described as gentle, scenically attractive Zagorje-Prigorje hills. Sutla Road is a completed cycle route that connects the entire Sutla Valley through Dubravica. The cycling route on Map 2 connects Kupljenovo, Luka, Dubravica, Marija Gorica and Pušća.

Traditional, blue-painted rural “hiže” have been preserved in the surrounding villages to this day. The parish church of St. Anne in Rozga was built in 1842. The cemetery chapel in Rozga dates from 1609 and was known as the Chapel of Majka Božja Lušačka.

The traditional homestead at Pavla-Štoosa Street 10 in Dubravica is listed in the Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage under code Z-5221. Pavao Štoos was born on 10 December 1806 in Dubravica, in the parish of Rozga near Zaprešić. He celebrated his first Mass in St. Anne’s Church in Rozga.

Events

Written records of the Rozga Wind Orchestra have survived since 1902. Since 2009, the Rozga Wind Orchestra has organized the International Wind Orchestra Festival in Dubravica.
