Pojatno is located on the edge of the Krapina River valley and on the eastern foothills of the Marijagoričko Hills. The Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus stands in the center of Pojatno. It was built in the 1930s.

Getting There

In the timetable for the period from December 14, 2025, to December 12, 2026, Pojatno is listed as a scheduled stop on Zagreb suburban services on the Zagreb–Zabok route, between Novi Dvori and Kupljenovo. Video surveillance, visual and audible passenger information, and parking spaces are available at Pojatno stop.

Culture

The mixed choir of KUD Pojatno brings together around 30 singers from Pojatno, Kupljenovo, Pušća, and Zaprešić. The repertoire of KUD Pojatno includes around 100 Croatian folk, popular, old-town, and religious songs. In 2010, KUD Pojatno recorded the audio album “Oj, Pojatno,” documenting part of its work to preserve Croatian folk songs.

The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus has also been celebrated as “Dan Pojatna” for 29 years. The “Dan Pojatna” celebration included a traditional procession and Holy Mass. The celebration was enriched by folklore performances by KUD Pojatno and by guests from Hruševec Kupljenski and the partner municipality of Kiseljak.

Cycling

The planned “Forest Ride” project includes new cycling and pedestrian infrastructure between Zaprešić and Pojatno, as well as its connection to the existing cycling and pedestrian route to Novi Dvori railway station. Within the city of Zaprešić, 3.2 kilometers of new cycling and pedestrian infrastructure are planned.

The “One lap around Zaprešić” cycling route follows a gravel road to Pojatno and then continues toward Donja Pušća.
