Culture

The Vršilnica in Novi Dvori is one of the few surviving examples of the economic architecture of an aristocratic estate from the 18th century. It was fully restored in 2018 and converted into a multimedia center for cultural events and business gatherings. The Novi Dvori estate also includes the Neo-Gothic Chapel of St. Joseph.

The permanent exhibition at the Brdovec Museum features photographs and descriptions of Jelačić's Novi Dvori in Zaprešić, as well as other estates in the region. With the exception of Lužnica, the estates shown are not open to the public. Lužnica Castle was built in 1791 on the site of a former castle from the 17th century.

Nature

The Aleja leads visitors from the entrance of the Novi Dvori estate to the manor house. It is lined with a shady avenue of horse chestnut trees planted around 1890. The English landscape park of Lužnica Castle includes a lake, small wooded areas, and walking paths.

Lake Zajarki has a water surface of 40 hectares and contains a small island. The lake is regularly stocked, especially with carp. A day permit is required for fishing on the large Zajarki Lake; it must be purchased from the fisheries inspector at the fishing hut.
