Nova Vas: Hotels and Accommodation

Culture and History

At the entrance to Nova Vas stands the parish church of St. Michael the Archangel. It was built in 1540 and was originally dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy.

Near Nova Vas, Kaštel sv. Jurja preserves a trapezoidal ground plan and well-preserved fortress walls.

Cuisine

The Cattunar winery in Nova Vas organizes guided tastings for groups and individual visitors. Cattunar's Istria tasting includes the winery's extra virgin olive oil as well as a platter of cheese, cured meats, and truffle bruschette.

Ravalico at Nova Vas 101 has a tasting room for 30 people and produces olive oil; the tradition of winemaking and viticulture in Nova Vas dates back to 1903.

Events

Fešta sv. Lovre is a traditional celebration of Saint Lawrence, the patron saint of Nova Vas. In Nova Vas, it combines music, dancing, a walking tour, and Istrian specialties, desserts, and wine. Near Nova Vas, its program also includes a festive mass in St. Lawrence Church in Pavići.
