Nature and hiking
The H135 Put lokvi nature trail ends in Poljica. It begins in Milohnići, is 6.2 km long, climbs 120 metres in elevation and is rated as easy. The starting and finishing point of H128 In the shade of great oaks is also located in Poljica. This easy 6.6 km hiking trail with 140 metres of elevation gain starts and ends at the central car park.
The H135 Put lokvi runs along karst ponds through predominantly wooded terrain; information boards explain their characteristics. Near Poljica, H128 leads through Dolinji drmun puški, where a 400-year-old oak grows to a height of 20 m, reaches a crown diameter of 30 m and has a trunk circumference of more than 5 m.
Near Poljica, the H128 trail leads downhill from Poljica to ÄŒavlena Bay, where hikers can rest and swim in summer.
Culture and architecture
The Croatian Register of Cultural Goods lists the Church of St. Cosmas and St. Damian with its bell tower in Poljica under code Z-2722. The parish church is a single-nave building with a cruciform floor plan and dates from the end of the 15th century; a Glagolitic date on the window frame states the year 1497.
An inscription dates the PoljiÄki bell tower to 1768 and names Dominik Regini as its builder. The church's freestanding bell tower was completed in 1768, built of dressed stone and decorated with Baroque architectural elements.
The ethnographic zone of Poljica contains traditional residential and farm buildings characterised by stone construction, exterior staircases, massive chimneys and indoor hearths. Poljica features well-preserved local architecture with stone houses and Renaissance buildings. The ethnographic zone of Poljica is designated as a protected cultural and historical entity from the 15th century under monument code RRI-0315-1972.
Cycling
Near Poljica, the B-425 MTB route runs through Poljica. It is a 20 km circular route of moderate difficulty on gravel, asphalt and trails.
