Culture and History

Trbounje is home to the Crkvina site, an early Christian architectural complex in the hamlet of Čupići. It was built on the edge of a probably Late Antique rural villa. The surviving structural elements include a church, a baptistery, a catechumenium, a cistern, a narthex and a diaconicon. The construction phases date from the late 4th or early 5th century and from the 6th century. Anyone wishing to book a hotel in Trbounje can then continue their accommodation search.

Local Specialties

Trbounje is associated with the production of pršut and pancetta, as well as with a facility for drying meat.

Drniški pršut is a regional specialty associated with the area around Drniš. Its characteristic quality is linked to the microclimate of this area and the strong bora winds. In 2012, it was certified by the Croatian Ministry of Agriculture as a product with protected geographical origin.
