Gornji Vinjani: Hotels and accommodations

Culture and history

Borak is designated as an immovable cultural asset under the designation Z-4622. The ruins of an ancient building dating from the 2nd to the 4th century are located there. The finds include a mosaic, a water supply system, a bronze statue of Venus, and fragments of ancient pottery. Janjišev dub is a late medieval cemetery dating from the 16th to the 18th century.

Churches and pilgrimage tradition

The Church of St. Ante on Golo brdo in Gornji Vinjani was built in 1892 and is designated as a cultural asset. Its grounds include an outdoor altar for open-air masses and a large park area; the church is also associated with large gatherings for the Feast of St. Ante. The Feast of St. Ante attracted pilgrims from Imotska krajina and Herzegovina to the shrine of Vinjani.

The Church of St. Roko in Gornji Vinjani is designated as an immovable cultural asset. At St. Roko, the parish holds Eucharistic adoration every Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

Vinjani Gornji has a permanent road border crossing for international passenger and freight traffic. Ravna Glavica and Sveta Kata are located near Gornji Vinjani.
