Culture

The heritage of Kaštel Lukšić includes the Gothic Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, dating from 1530, as well as a late Baroque parish church with paintings, sculptures and an altar tomb from the 15th century attributed to Juraj Dalmatinac.

Vitturi Palace was completed in 1564. On its northern side are two defensive towers and a drawbridge; in the 18th century, the latter was replaced by a single-arch stone bridge.

The “Miljenko and Dobrila” programme reached its 13th consecutive edition in 2026. The 2026 edition depicts life in the old Kaštela through the local dialect, dowry and wedding customs, traditional songs and dances.

The storytelling tour “Tragom Miljenka i Dobrile” leads from Vitturi Castle and the Museum of the City of Kaštela to the church where the couple is buried, and complements the tour with details from the history of Kaštela. “Kaštelanski dvorci i legende” is a costumed interpretive tour in Kaštel Lukšić. The interpretive tours are free of charge, but places are limited.
