Oključna: Hotels and Accommodation

Culture

Oključna is home to the Baroque Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua. It was built on 8 July 1714 as a family chapel on the Mirce estate. The chapel stands next to a house with a semicircular tower; a Visković coat of arms is located on its door lintel.

Nature

The Teuta bellflower (Campanula teutana) is currently known only from the area around Oključna on Vis. It blooms from mid-May to the end of June and grows in difficult-to-access crevices on north-facing limestone cliffs above the sea.

Queen's Cave has five chambers connected by halls and is rich in stalactites and stalagmites. Queen's Cave can be reached by an approximately one-hour walk along a narrow path east of Oključna. The excursion to Queen's Cave also includes a half-hour drive on a macadam road to Oključna.

Routes

The KOMIŽA – ZAGREBENJE – OKLJUČNA route takes about 2.5 hours and includes 390 metres of ascent and 390 metres of descent. Along this route, the surface changes from asphalt to macadam and then to an agricultural track.

The VIS – OKLJUČNA route branches off from the road after 2 kilometres, runs for approximately 1.5 kilometres on asphalt, and then becomes a macadam track as far as the village. A macadam road near Oključna connects to a road leading towards Oključna Bay.
