Marina: Hotels and accommodations

Marina reveals itself through nature, history, and trails. The themed walk along the Put Grote botanical trail leads through Mediterranean vegetation to St. Philip and James's Cave, also known as the Grotto. The elliptical cave lies on the southeastern slope of Plića Hill, is approximately 62 metres long and up to 19 metres wide, contains a chapel and altars, and has served as a sanctuary. In and around the cave, there is also a Gothic inscription from the 14th century, old wall remains, and medieval tombstones. The trail offers views across the Marina Field from Komorje Hill.

Culture and history

St. Marina Church was built at the end of Marina Bay at the beginning of the 16th century, presumably on the foundations of an older medieval church. In the 1980s, it was converted into a gallery and no longer has a religious function. James Church was built outside Marina's defensive walls from the stone remains of the Renaissance walls and has a Latin cross-shaped floor plan.

A free guided tour of Marina uses a costumed guide and real medieval sites to bring figures from the local cultural heritage to life. Marina Tower has been reconstructed and converted into a dining and tourist facility.

The fitness park at Fangare Beach is part of Marina's Health Path. Camino Central Dalmatia and Camino Å ibenik also pass through the municipality of Marina as pilgrim hiking routes.

Marina olive oil is a locally produced product made using traditional methods.
