Rovanjska is situated in a bay at the end of the Velebit Channel. Rovanjska has the two named beaches of Rovanjska and Splovina. The Modrič Cave is located in the Rovanjska area; it is protected as a geomorphological natural monument and extends for 829 metres. The medieval Church of Saint George is located in Rovanjska, directly on the seashore. On the Mali Kamenjar cycling route, you can turn at the junction towards the centre of Rovanjska to visit it on the beach. The Church of Saint George retains its original half-cross shape with a characteristic elliptical dome and a barrel vault. On the return journey to Modrič, the Mali Kamenjar cycling route follows an old main road lined with traditional natural-stone kerbstones. The natural monument is located in the immediate vicinity of the relevant junction on the Mali Kamenjar cycling route.

The wider regional surroundings of Rovanjska include the ruins of Asseria, the fortress of Zadar, the historic Old Town Centre and the Church of Saint Simeon.
Local Cuisine and Events
At Ribarska noć in Rovanjska, held on 11 August 2022, dishes were prepared using local products from fishing and aquaculture. In 2023, the event continued as part of the “U zagrljaju mora” project, as one of three gastronomic events featuring seafood.
