Drage has a highly indented coastline with pine-fringed bays, Mediterranean vegetation and pebble beaches. At the end of the village lies Bukež pebble beach on a quiet stretch of coast. It offers clear, transparent sea and views of Velika Arta and Mala Arta.

Coast

Nature

A cycling route in Vransko jezero Nature Park leads through the hinterland of Drage and Pakoštane towards Crkvine. Vransko jezero is located about one kilometre from Drage; newly built cycle paths around the lake are available for active visitors. The Put jezera route is 7.3 kilometres long and classified as moderately difficult.

The Bedemska staza trail runs along Poškaljina Bay from Drage to Pakoštane through olive groves and pine forest. Čelinka can be reached on foot from Drage. The Čelinka viewpoint above Drage offers views of Vrana Lake, the islands of the Pakoštane archipelago and the Kornati Islands.

Culture

Archaeological remains of a Liburnian hillfort on Čelinka bear witness to the strategic importance of the site. In Drage, Dragarske bumbete refers both to the fishing lights used on boats and to a traditional summer festival held in the light of the fishing lanterns known as “bumbete”. Fishermen who use light fishing are called “svićari” and are widely known.

The nautical marina in Drage serves as a starting point for excursions and visits to the nearby national parks.

Local Cuisine

At this festival, fish prepared with homemade olive oil, local wine, Prošek, rakija, traditional dishes based on time-honoured recipes and traditional sweets are offered.
