Chodovská Huť was founded in 1687 as a settlement for the poorest miners from Tři Sekery. The place was formerly known as “Dolní Šmelctál”.

History
The war memorial in Chodovská Huť was erected on September 13, 1925. It is dedicated to the local residents who fought in the First World War from 1914 to 1918.
The school building from 1884 still stands in Chodovská Huť today. The former traveling school was given its own building in 1884.
Cycling Route
Regional cycling route No. 2068 reaches Chodovská Huť at an intersection with the war memorial. From Chodovská Huť, the route continues along cycling route No. 36 to nearby Plánská Huť.

Chodovská Huť was the southernmost of the three settlements arranged from north to south: Tachovská, Plánská, and Chodovoplánská (now Chodovská).
