Chýsky: Hotels and accommodation
In Chýšky, a district of the town of Chyše, stands the cemetery church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (Annunciation of the Virgin Mary). A Stations of the Cross consisting of nine small stone chapels leads from the settlement to the church.
Culture and history
The church stands on the eastern edge of the town of Chyše on the gentle rise of Špičák (Spitzberk). It is a three-nave building with two prismatic towers crowned by small onion domes. The cemetery beside the church is surrounded by niche chapels; its most valuable gravestones have been restored.
The church served as the family crypt of the Michna z Vacínova family. Members of the Lažanský family are also buried in the crypt. One of the church towers houses two historic bells dating from 1520 and 1572.
Religious heritage
At the midpoint of the Stations of the Cross in Chýšky stands the Baroque niche chapel of Saint Anne, dating from 1784.
Brewing culture
In the area of the town of Chyše, the Chyše Castle Brewery produces natural, unpasteurized beer. With advance registration, visitors can book a brewery tour with beer tasting directly from the storage tanks.
