Bratříkov: Hotels and Accommodation

The Freedom Monument, featuring a bust of T. G. Masaryk, was unveiled on 14 August 1919 in Bratříkov’s small square. It was created through a public collection and later supplemented with the names of the men from Bratříkov who fell in the First World War. In the Republic, the monument was among the first of its kind; in the Semily District, it was the first.

Culture and History

Historically, Bratříkov belonged to the domain associated with Návarov Castle. The local rural architectural history is also connected with its own names: the historic farmstead in Bratříkov was later called U Zámečníků or Na Rychtě. In 1812, three sandstone statues of Saint Peter, Saint Paul and the Good Shepherd were erected at the farmstead. The farmstead, together with the statues standing beside it, has survived to this day on the main road and invites tourists and travellers to stop and visit.

The Trnka farmstead features a Baroque sculpture group. Together with the Freedom Monument and the historic farmstead, these different reminders of the area’s history form part of Bratříkov’s character.

Landscape and Views

The Žernovník stream flows through Bratříkov. Above the village is the U Lavičky viewpoint. From there, you can look out over Černá Studnice, Bratříkov and Skalička–Hamrštice. The best way to reach the viewpoint is from Kostřavec Hill via Dolence in the direction of Loužnice.

The Pirochův quarry is also part of the local landscape. It was located in Štebrov, a district belonging to Bratříkov, and lies in a valley between the slopes of Bratříkov and Těpeře. A memorial lime tree is estimated to be 300 years old.

Sports Activities

At T. J. Sokol Bratříkov, all-round physical activity is offered as a sport for preschool children and school pupils.
