Bratrušov lies in the foothills of the Hrubý Jeseník in a valley along the upper reaches of the Bratrušovský potok. The village has an elongated settlement form along the road and strip fields extending behind the houses, typical of a German colonist village.
The Pollnerova hrušeň stands as a protected individual tree in the cadastral area of Bratrušov. On 12 May 2022, the wild pear had a trunk circumference of 380 cm measured at a height of 1.3 m.
The hills on the western and northwestern sides of the village that are visible from far away include Chmelná and Čapí vrch. Čapí vrch is 646 m high.

Culture and History
The first written mention of Bratrušov dates from 1371.
The Church of All Saints (Kostel Všech svatých) in Bratrušov is a late Renaissance church dating from 1603. The single-nave building has a polygonal termination and a hexagonal tower above the roof ridge; in 1833, the church received an Empire-style vestibule.
The Chapel of St. Roch (sv. Rocha) is a free-standing, masonry single-nave building on a hill, with a rectangular nave and a semicircular apse. Its construction was most likely connected with the cholera epidemic in Bratrušov in 1832, in which 43 people died.
The Bratrušovská boží muka have been listed as a protected monument since 1958. This small sacred monument is classified as Empire style; its construction is dated to 1833.
