Mikuleč showcases its distinctive features above all through the combination of local history, culture and landscape.
Culture and history
Mikuleč was founded in the 13th century. The present-day late Baroque Church of St. George was built in the second half of the 18th century on Gothic foundations. It stands on a hill on the northern outskirts of Mikuleč, in the middle of the cemetery.
Inside the Church of St. George are frescoes of Bohemian patron saints, created in 1899–1900 by students based on designs by Mikoláš Aleš. In front of the church stands the monument to the victims of the First World War in Mikuleč; it was erected in 1931 and is currently maintained by the local municipal office.
